I made it! Though not without some twists and turns. So after disembarking K at her place I had the cab take me back to mine, whereupon I realize that I had been a total loser and left my keys in my office. What’s that mean? Another trip to Manhattan at 3:00 in the morning [...]

Possibly the worst idea ever.

Having spent about 13 years in Seattle, my ears still perk up a little bit whenever I run across something Microsoft. When I first moved to the area there I lived about a half mile or so from the Redmond campus, but even had I not it would still have been more or less impossible [...]
In these dark economic times, doesn’t it make sense to BYOB?

Perhaps it’s just coincidence, but over the past few days I’ve been alerted to the presence on the market of several devices that could come in quite handy for the alcoholist, on the verge of losing his or her job, looking to save a bit of scratch as the roiling credit markets and continuing fizzle [...]
You know how phones should have breathalyzers on them?

They should have them outside the front door at every White Castle, too. Seriously. BTW, it’s a funny thing… If you don’t drink all week and then drink martinis at Alta like they’re mother’s milk and she’s dying tomorrow, you’ll likely wake up feeling a bit worse for wear anyway. So I had the pleasure last night of attending a little soiree at the well appointed Billyburg loft of one of the Salty Sisters (two of my bestest lady friends), complete with tunes by the lovely Anna Cavazos, and am feeling totally banged up today. My late night White Castle run apparently did little to [...]
Because this is a really great idea.

Complete. Idiocy.
I think I may well be in attendance.

First, off, apologies to those of you whose sardonic blogs, witty comments, and scathing messages I appear to have been ignoring. My online presence has been greatly diminished lately due to constraints placed on my time by, um… My job. That’s right. After about four years without working a full-time gig, I’m settling back into [...]

Ten years ago, in August, 1996, I found myself playing the role of broke, unemployed, stay-at-home boyfriend. It’s good to know that some things never change. In keeping with the tradition I established back then, while picking up breakfast (and Oreos) this morning I grabbed a paper to read in its entirety while lounging around [...]
